Hej Ludvig, we are honoured to have you as a part of CSSBattle! 🙇🏼‍♂️ Our readers would like to know more about you. Please tell us a little about yourself.

I’m Ludvig Lindblom, father of two, husband, amateur chef, cigar aficionado and self-taught web developer from Stockholm, Sweden who’s been working in IT since 1998 in various roles, all of them developer related.

I had access to the internet very early and spent an ungodly amount of time "surfing the web" as a young teenager, viewing the source code for every site I visited, and a few years later I got my first internship at a web developer agency.

For the past four~ish years I’ve been Head of Technology at a full-service creative agency and prior to that I’ve worked at consultancy firms, marketing departments in TV & radio, ad agencies and more.

1998 - waaooow! And we just love that pic of yours 😎! How did you come to know about CSSBattle?
I don’t really remember how I stumbled upon CSSBattle, but since I spend a lot of time on social media I bet it was a random tweet or something that caught my attention.
What are your thoughts on CSS? What makes it interesting for you?
Ever since I read about CSS when it was first released it just felt right.

I had made a few websites already, trying to do some sort of aesthetically pleasing interface using just HTML and images which was a chore and I jumped on CSS the minute it started to be available in the browsers back then.

I’ve always been more interested in the UI and UX of development so CSS is where I feel at home. There’s something satisfying about being able to completely change the entire UI without even having to sometimes touch the markup.

So interesting to hear! It would have been an amazing feeling to see something like CSS getting introduced in browsers back then 😍! Many people say "CSS is easy or it's not really a programming language". What do you want to say to those people?
If they want to feel that way, so be it.

I know from first hand experience that although CSS might be quick to pick up and easy to learn, it is hard to master. And given how fast the language is evolving right now, there are always new things to learn.

Absolutely! Any tip/suggestion for people who are starting to learn CSS?
Just build stuff and have fun.

Codepen is a great tool for experimenting quickly, and there are millions of cool projects and snippets to take inspiration from there.

And if you’re serious about learning it properly, read the docs (I recommend the MDN Web Docs).

What's the best part of playing at CSSBattle? Has it helped you in any way?

The best part is easily how fun it is.

The daily targets are perfect to get your quick CSS fix during breakfast or your lunch break.

The community over at Discord is also very welcoming, and a great place to pick up tips and tricks.

I would say CSSBattle has helped me think outside the box. It’s easy to get stuck in your ways when doing something for a very long time, and all the public solutions posted on Discord and daily target top lists have been great for kickstarting my creativity.

What's that one thing you want to see in CSSBattle next?
I’m looking forward to the “seasons” that you posted about a while back. It seems like a great idea and I’m sure it will make CSSBattle even more fun.

We can't wait to get seasons out too! Its been an honour to have you over at CSSBattle, Ludvig! Your contribution to the community is great! We hope to make CSSBattle enjoyable and a learning experience for everyone. Thanks for your time and cheers Cigars to many more battles!

Hope you had a nice time getting to know Ludvig. We'll see you soon with one more amazing CSSBattle player! Do follow us on Twitter to know about our next post and awesome new updates coming to CSSBattle. Until next time, cya!
